I read on 7-Zip forums that this should be the last beta before a new stable release, that it is a very good new, even if the quality of beta releases IMHO were great.Originally Posted by maadjordan
Hello everyone,
Consens! Iirc only one serious bug (regarding creation of zip-files) in last few months. Not too bad for a "one-man-show" (Microsoft -> do you listen?). Great stuff, indeed!Originally Posted by giorgiotani

after testing v4.56 i can say the CHM bugs now is solved.. as the techniques mentioned @
http://www.encode.su/forums/index.php?action=vthre ad&forum=1&topic=546&page=0
as a CHM optimizer would produce CHM file with LZX-15 or LZX-18 and either were supported by 7-zip while it run easily on windows.. now it is solved..
http://www.7-zip.org7-Zip 4.57 released 2007-12-06
-------------------------
- The BUG in command line version was fixed: -up3 switch
could work incorrectly.
I'm testing it, 4.57 seems very good.
It's nice having a new non-beta version, even if latest beta releases quality was great.
BTW, I'll update 7z frontend in upcoming version of PeaZip for it.
Thanks Giorgio!![]()
