I dont have the choice to use it even if I wanted to. My Sempron 2400+ does not have SSE2 instruction set.

Damn its still slow en unuseful

    a quick test

    PAK0.pak contents fra Qauke3 Team arena = 574MB
    with KGB (PAQ 7 normal) = 297MB
    with CCMx (6) = 253MB

i didn't time it but CCMx finished WAY before KGB

You know, the method PAQ 7 says pretty much everything about the resulting speed... I rather wonder where did Tomash gain 8% of additional speed increase between betas. CCM is 60-80x faster, winning in effectivity, whereas KGB heads for max compression (and when not counting kinda slow directory listing, it's quite good PAQ frontend)

    #balck fox

But Paq7 still performed worse compression wise. So CCMx also won in comrpession ratio (on my small test set).

ccm includes MM preprocessing code which probably greatly helps in this test
