    just af proposal

it would be nice if CCM(x) by default add'ed the extension .ccm & .ccmx to the compressed file.
And then removed the extension again when decompression the file.

it would be much easier to use in batch files.

Yes, I think current CCM can be turned into a practical file compressor, much like GZIP - just adding more user friendly interface and some options like mode switching (CCM and CCMx in one program).

    Hi Sven,

you can already do this with batch files. Use something similar to this for compression:

    for %a in (*.*) do ccm c %a %a.ccm

Decompression should look something like this:

    for %a in (*.ccm) do ccm d %a %~na

I know these things are very minor and easy things which could be done in a few minutes. But there wont be any CCM releases anytime soon because Ive not touched the code for months now. There are many things which can be improved and Ive collected many new ideas - but sadly, thisll have to wait.

    #Christian

thanx i really needed that line.
my solution so far was to do this was a bit ugly

now i only wish for a -2pass switch that would do two encode and save the one with the smallest mem req. if this size is no bigger than 1% of the other file.

but i got a batch for that job
