Looks like we just forgot about these compressors. As author said to me, at least qazar (and possibly qc, as an improved qazar) is based on my old LZPX (violating GPL, but I don't care). He started playing with LZPX, and qazar came out. Having said, he did serious code changes. By the way, in short, qazar represents variable order ROLZ (as set of contexts with number of pointers). qc is something more PPM-based (with 4-bit symbols as author described) and slow.
