Document Press Version 6.01 Copyright (c) 1999-2006 Igor Pavlov 2006-04-13

    Usage: docprc [<switches>...] [<file_names>...] [<@listfiles...>]

    <Switches>
-a: Compress files in all non-removable drives recursively
    -b<path>: assign Base directory
    -i[r[-|0]]{@listfile|!wildcard}: Include filenames
    -r[-|0]: Recurse subdirectories
    -t: esTimate compression ratio
-w[<path>]: assign Work directory. Empty path means a temporary directory
    -x[r[-|0]]]{@listfile|!wildcard}: eXclude filenames
    -opt: Optimize files locations

    Examples:
docprc *.doc *.xls -r compresses all *.doc *.xls files
    from current directory recursively
docprc -a compresses all documents in all drives
docprc -bc: -t -r estimates compression ratio for all documents
    on disk c:

it supports all compound files and can optimize for smaller size and the "-opt" is new to me but very good ... it can even optimize CHM files..

here is some change log from Igor Pavlov about "-opt" option

-opt rewrite files even if there is no any compression gain. So it can
    reduce internal fragmentation.
7-zip (old version that had no MSI support) could not decompress some
    MSI files as CAB archives,
since MSI files were fragmented. 7-zip can decompress these files after
    recompressing by docprc -opt.

I wonder if it can work with MSHelp2(.hx?) files.

so far I have figured out that Document Press 6.01 supports
only .DOC, .XLS and CHM files; it gave no gain on MSI files, NSIS or INNO archives.

it works on un-optimized MSI.. if you need to know what formats it realy supports look for compound files like:

    1-ms office (doc,xls,xla,mdz,dot,pot,wiz,ppt,pub,vsd)
2-ms help files (chm, .chi, .chw, .chq,.its)
3-ms ebooks (.lit)..actually its a special type of chm
    4-3d(3dsmax .max, solidworks, revit .rvt)
6-ms images (ms image composer (mic), ms photodraw, picture it (mix), flashpix (fpx)
    7-MS installer (msi,msg,msp
    8-MS SpeechEngines (VCE,art,)

so in genereal where ever you have MS you can find compound files

I know that for a year now. deflopt brings nearly nothing.

best optimizing of xlsx and docx formats is done by renaming extension to zip and optimize it with winrar. this saves up to 20% and after renaming those zip back they will open flawlessly.
