Some fun facts about StuffIt compression:
+ Method 4 (best text compression) (Brimstone) is no more no less than a PPMd clone
    Compression level - model order
    Compression memory - model size
    + Optimizers - various filters
+ Block Mode - it's not only sorting files by their types, it's also enables a simple defragmentator

So, in my PIM I also can use a "Brimstone" compression method (a newer variant, by the way).

By the way, on my testset Stuffit 11 failed on 2 files: XLS and EXE (can't unpack correctly). EXE - with option "recompress zip", XLS - with default mode.

AFAIK, StuffIt uses a special compression for XLS files - so it's a bug in filter/special compressor. Also, something wrong with ZIP recompressor.
