    now i fill arc.groups with extensions for the following file groups:

    1) cd image (like *.iso)
    2) music module (like *.mod)
    3) zip/gz-compressed files (for precomp)
    4) jpeg files (for PackJPG)
    5) unpacked bitmapped grahics
    6) unpacked wave sound files

    my current list is:

    itz, xmz, s3z, mdz - compressed modules. (just a ZIP archive with one tracker module)

    eaz - just a renamed ZIP archive. (EAZEL junkies)

    pak - can be a QUAKE archive, not ZIP

    Note:
    UMX - a sound module from Unreal game. Which is no more no less than:

    Special UMX header
    +
    Regular module like IT, XM or S3M

    Some time ago (back in 1999) I wrote a program called UMXUNPK - which "unpacks" a regular module from UMX file so it could be played by any tracker software or WinAmp...

    .MO3, .SN and .SN2 are compressed; the best module of them is .RNS (Renoise Tracker) which contains uncompressed WAV;
    the hardest is .MO3 because its just a .MOD that can also use compressed WAV and .MP3 samples.

    Besides, many file formats may contain compressed or uncompressed data, i.e. TIFF, BMP etc. Don't forget about compressed audio and video files.
