Thread: tornado 0.2 is not yet finished...

    .. but rather close. in particular, i've written small and elegant huffman encoder that is just 100 lines long - several times smaller than zip's one

    and now i'm starring at this beatiful encoder and try to realize how i can write corresponding decoder

    yes. thanks to hufcoder, tornado -3 is now rather close to thor ex in both time and compression

    decompression turned out to be as easy as compression itself. at the last end. the whole huffman stuff required about 200 lines (what is about 10 times smaller than zip implementation)

    but im still work on other optimizations..

    tornado 0.2 is not yet finished...
    A funny topic title. It sounds like: I still not written the compressor which outcompresses PAQ being faster than THOR... Or something like that.

    i just renewed working on it and in last 3 days improved compression ratio by 3%

    i want to improve it as much as possible before releasinng freearc because after this release i cannot improve tornado and use it in newer freearc versions without losing backward compatibility
