~8 years ago my friend worked on exe compressor. at those times, 777 and ufa already exist and show very good results on exe compression. so my friend asked Igor who he does in order to improve compression. hos answer was "me methods are too slow in decompression, so i don't think that they will be interesting for you". at last end, whole lzma was incorporated in upx

UFA and expecially 777 are indeed slow at decompression...

LZMA is a different story - it has a fast decompression.
