Abstract:

FPC (Floating-Point Compressor) a lossless compression algorithm
for linear stream of 64-bit floating-point data.FPC is desined to
compress well while at the same time meeting the high throughput
demands of scientific computing environments.
It achieves a substantially higher average compression than GZIP,
BZIP2,FSD,PLMI & DFCM.
At comparable compression ratios, it compress & decompress 8 to
300 times faster than five algorithms.....
