This one is the biggest release since 1.0.0a. Thus, I opened a new thread.
This version's normal profile takes place 14 in SFC by a nice margin. And this with only <u>17 MiB</u> of RAM! Extra profile has improved ratio, too. Changelog is in the readme.

    Enjoy, Christian

    Hi guys!

Ive got good news! I tweaked the new modeling I introduced in the last version. Ratio is slightly improved - speed, too. And memory usage is down to 82 MiB. Im looking forward to your opinions.

    v1.1.1a: http://www.mytempdir.com/1228113

The project is on hold at least for the next weeks (Ill only fix bugs - I hope this wont be necessary ). So, no more updates in the next time.

I think, that the moment you modify a post in a topic you touch it and thereby bring it up again. But this is just guessing. Anyway, the topic should be the compressor.

Just something like CCM - 1.1.x branch. So it doesnt have to be modified anymore.

I hope I can improve the CM further without losing efficiency. But thisll have to wait now. Additionally, its not about defeating anyone but trying out ideas and making progress.

Thank you very much Mr. Mahoney and LovePimple for testing and for the nice comments!

    Sincerely yours, Christian

    Dear Christian,

I have finished testing CCM 1.1.1a, and it climbed from 50th to 44th place in my SqueezeChart meaning it compressed better than PPMonstr I, PAQ4, Durilva 0.4b and Slim 23d heading now UHARC, PPMonstr J and Ocamyd as well as 7-zip.

    Brilliant work.

    Yours,
    Stephan Busch

The posting of this message was caused by a misunderstanding. Ilia and myself have spoken about this privately and all is OK now.

This is a mistake that we ALL make at one time or another! Its something that can happen all too easily when we are absorbed by the thoughts of getting the latest news and updates of such a great little project to fellow members of our favorite forum.

You will always be welcome here!

    Dear Ilia,
    Dear Christian,

I have updated my website which is reachable now under:

    http://squeezechart.freehost.ag
    www.squeezechart.de

New: CCM 1.1.1a, ACB 2.00c, Quad 1.07, QuickLZ 1.20.4 and a picture of Chr. Martelock

I also got Chile 0.5 (compiled by A.Mosoi), but it does not run properly on my large testsets.

    Yours,

    Stephan

I cant get more than a few photos on the "Members of the Compression League" page to display. Even after 60 minutes, only 9 photos were visible.

    WinXP SP2, IE6, 56K Dial-Up connection.

Yes, unfortunately, both html and jpg/png are way too big,
to be transferred fast by 56k connections.. I will have to optimize them. This site was difficult to build, as normal export from excel
destructed formatting. So it is still a beta page..
I am not experienced enough to optimize code of that page,
    but I will do someday..

    Sorry again,

    Stephan

I found a couple of minutes to spend on the program. And here's another mini update. I tweaked the hashing a little bit. This gives a little bit more speed and ratio. e.g.:

    1.1.1a_ encodes SFC to 10.900.613 bytes at 1075 KiB/s
    1.1.1a2 encodes SFC to 10.890.661 bytes at 1139 KiB/s

    v1.1.1a2: http://www.mytempdir.com/1234034

    Hi everyone!
    Here's another small release.
I'm curious about results on Stephan's and BF's testsets.
    Download 1.1.1a3: http://www.mytempdir.com/1236863

This is the first CCM that compresses whole testset to less than 40% of its original size (39,85%)

This is good news! Finally all those tiny improvements cancel out the heavy loss on that MP3. Nonetheless, its a dilemma - damn MP3.

Another small release. I cleaned the code a little bit. This resulted in a 10% speed boost and a mini compression improvement.

Additionally, I created a fast, stripped down version just for fun. It uses 66MiB of RAM. This version somehow shows the progress being made when compared to an old version like 1.0.2a.

    Download 1.1.2a: http://www.mytempdir.com/1238458

    Hi Christian,

I have tested CCM 1.1.1a3 which compressed my testsets to
1235 MB (previous version compressed to 1244 MB).
It is on 41th place while 1.1.1a2 is on 42th place.
