    LZPXJ sp
This is a special version of LZPXJ with more speed / less compression.
It shouldn't replace latest version 1.2e (which is significantly slower). This version is similar to LZPXJ 1.0f option 3.

    Options:
    -l1 more speed
    -l2
    -l3 default
    -l4
    -l5 more compression

    -n turn off exe-filter

    Thanks for the update Ilia!

I like this idea of selectable fast/medium/high compression. I think that all command line compressors should adopt a similar idea.

By the way, new version of PIM will be released soon (~3 September). In this version I optimize some parts of code (related to GUI) - for example, I optimize reading of archives - now PIM opens archives MUCH faster (2x times or more faster) this gives noticeable difference with large archives (4,000 files or more). Plus I redesign the structure of source code and add some additional GUI improvements.

    Some test results compressing ENWIK8.

    lzpxj -l1 e enwik8 test1.lzj

    Compressed size:
    30.7 MB (32,278,680 bytes)

    Time:
    Kernel Time = 1.203 = 00:00:01.203 = 2%
    User Time = 42.546 = 00:00:42.546 = 85%
    Process Time = 43.750 = 00:00:43.750 = 87%
    Global Time = 49.797 = 00:00:49.797 = 100%

    lzpxj -l2 e enwik8 test2.lzj

    Compressed size:
    30.7 MB (32,278,361 bytes)

    Time:
    Kernel Time = 1.296 = 00:00:01.296 = 2%
    User Time = 43.984 = 00:00:43.984 = 84%
    Process Time = 45.281 = 00:00:45.281 = 87%
    Global Time = 51.750 = 00:00:51.750 = 100%

    lzpxj -l5 e enwik8 test5.lzj

    Compressed size:
    30.7 MB (32,278,055 bytes)

    Time:
    Kernel Time = 1.281 = 00:00:01.281 = 1%
    User Time = 60.359 = 00:01:00.359 = 88%
    Process Time = 61.640 = 00:01:01.640 = 90%
    Global Time = 68.125 = 00:01:08.125 = 100%

I would like to see less compression and much more speed on the lower settings (l1-l3).

What about speed. Probably very soon, I'll write an ultra-small EXE-packer, based on first versions of LZPX with some improvements. The benefits of this EXE-packer are ultra-fast compression/decompression speed and small size. I hope it will be OpenSource project, hosted by SourceForge.net.
