    Take a look at this...

    As I only have dial-up its not practical for me to download and test the much larger "enwik9.zip (327 MB)" file. I hope you would be willing to do the FULL test yourself and send the results to Matt.

    Thanks a lot! I already download this large test-file. So, within a few days I'll complete this test.

    Also note: PX is a "haste makes a waste" progie - i.e. a lots things can be improved plus this program contains a lots of "lame" code. But it's works, and looks like works properly...

    It would be nice to see the code cleaned up and improved when you get some spare time.

    I like the simplicity of PX!

    Results:

    ENWIK8: 24,971,871 bytes; comp. 182 sec; decomp. 180 sec
    ENWIK9: 219,091,398 bytes; comp. 1838 sec; decomp. 1809 sec

    P4 3.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM

    Nice results. It beats even 7-Zip 4.42 on the smaller file.

    Although I did notice that your name is misspelled "Muraview" instead of "Muraviev".
