I am in need of understanding libbsc vs pigz, as pigz(parallel implementation of gzip) is performing better than libbsc, where libbsc is running in GPU and pigz running in CPU.

They are different algorithms. But still GPU is having more number of cores than CPU.

Is there any GPU implementations available for gzip? (There are papers related to it)

Sort Transform is patented by Michael Schindler under US patent 6,199,064.
However for research purposes this algorithm is included in this software.
