M03 0.3b is available

Verion 0.3 beta of M03 is now available

I don't have a lot of time these days (new baby) but I found a little time to add some basic improvements to the original statistical models. There are quite a few improvements waiting for enough time to implement them (much larger improvements for compression and speed ). But for now this is what I have as much as I have time for.

Hi Michael,

this version of M03 has better compression on p.ex. 3D Game and Binary testsets but crashes on larger tar testsets.

The switches I used are: m03 e -128 psx.tar psx.m03

M03 also crashes if blocksize is changed.
The system had 2 of 4 GB RAM free.

I wanted to post that last week, but somehow I forgot it.

The original exe that I made available had some broken code causing memory leaks between blocks. It was quickly fixed. That doesn't mean there might not be problems but it sounds like you might have that broken release.

Hi again

I have checked again with the m03.exe dated 17th Feb. 2010 with 143.360 bytes in size and the crash still happens.
