Hello everyone,
german translation -> done!
(five new strings in "messages")
Best regards!
thanks to all!
Hello world
I've updated the French translation for the intermediate version.
Regards,
Wow, amazing work Bulat! Thanks for the great program.
Seems that the best archivers are made by Russians.Keep on good work!
I also nominated FreeArc for Best Project/Best New Project.
Hello everyone,
surfin' the endless web, I stumbled upon:
http://sourceforge.net/project/shown...ease_id=608694
Release Name: FreeArc 0.50 alpha (June 22 200
Notes:
Main changes in this version:
* GUI: WinArc executable renamed to FreeArc; a lot of usability improvements
* Windows: added "Extract here" to .arc files context menu; added "FreeArc archive" to Explorer New command; added "Change skin" shortcut; config filesare searched first in user-specific "Application Data\FreeArc" directory
* Linux: fixed archive navigation & Unicode filenames support
* SFX: support for non-English filenames; WinRAR-compatible options with help displayed by "/?"
* -sfx option by default adds GUI module freearc.sfx (instead of arc.sfx)
* Total Commander addon: support for filenames with spaces and SFX archives
* FAR Plugin: added "Convert to SFX" command
* Improved filetype detection for large heterogenous files
* Fixed bug in REP that was preventing decompression of some archives created in -mx mode
Still no files to download as of 20.37 MEST
Bulat...?
Best regards!

ATM i'm uploading files. site was corrected when all these archives were building![]()
Hello everyone,
take your time, I'll get it this way or that
But one question might be allowed in the meantime: will it be possible to revers the process of making Sfx out of arc (meaning: exe -> arc)
edit: done! 21.31 MEST
Best regards!

Download FreeArc 0.50 alpha (June 22 200:

it's supported both in GUI (and you've translated this option!) -look at "Make EXE" options and via cmdline - command "s-" or options "-sfx-". actually, you may use RAR docs to forecast most of FreeArc command/option names

Hello everyone,
@ Bulat: did you notice that FreeArc crashes if a file inside the "file-manager" is double-clicked?
I tried with "arc.ini" and "freearc.ini"
Start FreeArc.exe with double-click from CoolExplorer -> files are listed -> double-click on arc.ini -> bye-bye FreeArc...
Language set to "german", WinXP SP3, 512 MB RAM, AMD 1700+
Best regards!
Hello everyone,
thanks Bulat
Best regards!
I was tired by all those packaging bugs and re-released program.
Download proper packages. Fixes are:
Thanks to everyone who've reported problems
- GUI: ability to add Windows SFX and convert ARC back to EXE
- GUI SFX: proper displaying of filename extracted
- Console package was completely mis-packaged
- Linux SFXes was uncompressed
Thank you Bulat
I love your archiver
By the way: Bulat you asked for tooltips...
I added some tooltips for the german users some months ago, but somehow the disappeared in the newer versions
I dont have the old versions of my translations, so we have to reinvent them again :P (otherwise I would translate them back to English...)
Maybe you (or Vacon?) have one of the older versions (from March or April, I dont remember...)

Hello everyone,
huh?
I can't remember I deleted any line!
I sure have the old versions at home, but right now I'm at work. So please be patient, or dig your own HDD
Best regards!
look into http://www.haskell.org/bz/arc.german.txt and http://www.haskell.org/bz/arc.german-2.txt - may be that is that you need?
thx, these are the right files![]()
Hello everyone,
or here: http://encode.su/forums/index.php?ac...pic=599&page=7 (maybe previous)
Best regards!
so, please join it with latest translation file and publish here - i will grab it
it will be especially great if you can provide new english tooltips - we will spread them into other languages
You can find the updated file (inlc german tooltips) in the appendix
I will translate the tooltips from german to english and post them here soon, please correct them if something isnt formulated 100%ly correct![]()
thank you, i will include it in the next build
a few notes for translators:
of course, i'm fixing problems as far as it's possible. if you don't have ability to use CR+LF line endings - just note this when you publish file or send it to me. converting from local encoding to UTF-8 isn't possible, though
- language files should be in UTF-8 encoding; you can produce it using notepad.exe for example
- line separator should be CR+LF (so it can be further edited in notepad)
- GUI version should be called FreeArc, not WinArc
i've updated the file according to these rules and uploaded it as http://www.haskell.org/bz/arc1.arc together with updated FreeArc.exe which fixes one small problem: incorrect handling of directories with "Compress each file into separate archive" enabled

--Other
1072 Additional options:=Define additional options manually (for advanced users).
Compression
1113 Fast, low-memory decompression=Disables use of algorithms having slow or memory-hungry decompression. OTOH using this option makes compression slower and worse.
1176 Filetype auto-detection=When enabled, FreeArc analyzes contents of each file and selects optimal compression method for it. When disabled, compression algorithms are selected according to arc.groups.
1138 Bytes, no more than:=Defines max size of a solid block.
1139 Files, no more than:=Defines the number of files which one solid block is allowed to contain.
1140 Split by extension=Sorts the file on the basis of their extensions. (One solid block containes then max one filetype.)
Encryption
1120 Encrypt archive directory=Encrypts archive meta-information (names, sizes, CRS of files in archive), so one will need to enter password/keyfile even to open archive. It's highly recommended to enable this option to ensure real security of your data.
1123 Keyfile:=Activate to make use of a keyfile. Highly recommended, if you want to archive confidential data. Store the keyfile in a safe place!\n(You can use a keyfile AND a password at the same time.)
1125 Generate new keyfile=Create new keyfile with user-choosen name containing 1 kb of cryptographically-generated random data
1181 Use password=Activate to make use of a password. Store the password in a safe place!\n(You can use a keyfile AND a password at the same time.)
Add dialog
1183 Compression=You can define compression settings here.\nFor advanced options please change to the \"Compression\" tab.
1184 Encryption=enables or disables encryption.\nFor advanced options please change to the \"encryption\" tab.
-Protection
1185 Protection:=Appends information to archive (by default 1% of archive size), which allows to restore its contents in case of magnetic storage damages or transmission failures
1186 Comment=Here you can type in a comment.
1128 Test archive after operation=Tests archive after compression.
1122 Delete files successfully archived=Activate to delete archived files after a successfull compression process.
1187 Finalize archive=close archive permanently (no editing is possible)
1201 Compress each file into separate archive=Activate to create a separate archive for each file is being archived.
1202 Add to archive name=Appends additional info to the archive name (for example date and time)
1207 Delete previous archive contents=Warning! Prevous archive contents will be deleted permanently!
1208 Order of files in archive=Durch Aktivieren dieser Option kann bei geeigneter Sortiermethode die Kompressionsrate verbessert werden (h?ngt vom Dateityp der zu archivierenden Dateien ab).
1222 Include only files=Activate to define explicitly archive contents, for example *.txt
1223 Exclude files=Activate if you want to leave out certain files.
1227 Make EXE:=Activate to create a selfextracting EXE-file \n(FreeArc is not needed to be installed for extraction...)
I forgot: You can delete the following line in the german language file as it seems that you build in support for tooltips only for checkboxes.
"1179 Encryption profile:=Profilvoreinstellungen sichern ausw?hlen"
