    Alternative paq8px builds

    paq8px_v58

paq8px_v58_MMX.exe: for any x86 CPU with MMX instruction set
paq8px_v58_Intel_SSE2.exe: for Intel CPU with SSE2 (or later) instruction set
paq8px_v58_AMD_SSE2.exe: for AMD CPU with SSE2 (or later) instruction set

All these builds should work correctly but have NOT been thoroughly tested. Then use them at your own risk.

First of all test results. Test conducted at -6 level on my PAQ_TestBed_Small.tar file which contains 16 specially selected files to activate all PAQ8px models
It weights 9 910 784 bytes. There is also nomal larger version - 15 580 672 bytes but its for some special purposes So here we go...

    Code:
    paq8px 721.884
    paq8px_speed_optimised 713.520
    paq8px_sse2_amd 698.816
    paq8px_sse2_intel 717.818

    paq8px_v58_MMX 653.812
    paq8px_v58_AMD_SSE2 637.277
    paq8px_v58_Intel_SSE2 635.745
Truly speaking I'm quite impressed with these results on my AMD64 4000+
Secondly. All output files are identical and wildcards are supported so nothing to say - well done !

Did you patch paq8px_v58_Intel_SSE2.exe to run it on your AMD?

    Thumbs up

fantastic! this version (paq8px_v64_Intel_SSE_Wildcard.exe) is faster than older version of paq8px!! Wooow!

-8 option set requires 1662 MB of RAM, wonderful!
