PeaZip 2.6.1

Hello everyone,

today PeaZip 2.6.1 has been released

2.6.1 update introduces various fixes and user-suggested usability improvements.
Under the hood, 7z backend was updated to 9.04 (on Windows) allowing to use the powerful LZMA2 compression algorithm, and adding support to .XZ and .VHD files; 87 file extensions are now supported for extraction.

Yeah I am very glad I asked the Peazip creator to code the new 7zip support into it. LZMA2 is an even better compressor in most situations I have tried so far. I hope he adds zpaq to it soon it has even better compression than paq8 lol.

Hmmm... Are you sure you didn't misprinted ? zPAQ better than PAQ8 ?

ur right. I had just heard the zpaq/paq8 author who said it would be better in almost all the ways it could be and would be the new replacement for paq8. But I guess it isn;t better oh well.

Hi all, soon after the 2.6.1 release I was notified a prof of concept of an attack against prorgram's GUI (discussed here http://secunia.com/advisories/35352/ and here http://peazip.sourceforge.net/changelog.html), and p7zip 9.04 was released, so I quickly released 2.6.2 with this two important updates.

* fixed bug in exploring paths containing spaces
* fixed bug in exploring paths in full mode (when PeaLauncher is used as standalone application)
* standardized ok and cancel buttons' position and icons

# Pea:

* fixed bug refusing chunck size bigger than maxint from command line
* fixed possible looping of application after internal_error procedure
