Thread title changeable? - No Problem!

That's a question to encode but others could post if they would like or dislike it.

It's a pity that most threads from compressor creators never won't be updated in the first post. I normally try to find new versions there or update news or whatever but thats not exactly what I want to ask here.
I can update the title of the first message but it won't be changed globally. Only black above the post.

Can this be edited in this forum?

That's sad, when even the weakest of this "Big Three" in forum software - phpBB - can do it.

Who-o-ow, wait a second. I checked the user permissions - nothing to change here. That's why I said that title cannot be changed. But of course it may be changed easily, if user will do it right. Just double-click on the thread title at the forum (say at data compression) and you'll see the edit box...

I'm actually trying to use this feature currently,
but cannot find the "edit" box.

Has anything changed lately, or is it just a matter of finding the right button to click ?

double click doesn't work for me but if you click "edit post" and then again on "edit post" you'll get to the advanced edit options (the advanced edit button doesn't work for me) there is an input field for the thread title

    I did as you suggested,
there is indeed an edit box called "title"
but it only changes the title of the post.

The title of the thread, as it appears on the forum page, remains unchanged.

In topics list dbl click your thread title and change it. Or in topic - first message - Edit Post - Go Advanced - change Title field.

Yes, indeed, I can see and modify the `Title` field,
but it does not change the thread title as is appears in the topics list.

It merely changes a kind of `first line in bold character` which appears only at the top of the first message.

@Cyan: Um, yes, you are right. I am sorry, I didn't test it.

Sorry, "Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title" has been the setting of 60 minutes. Is now no limit. Check now.

It is not working for me. When I double click on the thread title from the forum, I get an edit box for about 1/2 second but then the browser loads the thread and so the edit box is gone. When I edit the title from within the thread, it only changes the black title at the top of the first post, not the title for the thread. Is there some trick I am missing?
