Can you recommend some good software for removing halftone from scanned photos?
I've seen they use 'deep learning' for that too, and it seems quite good at it.
This type of preprocessing should help with ratio a lot?

What exactly are you meaning
I though halftone was the process of varine the size of the ink dot so its darker/lighter once vision has blurred it togeher
Im not sure if this is helpfull a shoot in the dark
1: scan in twice the resolutions needed ( i ussual did 600dpi)
2: give it a slight blur
3: rsize to half the size
finishd results of scann of printed material looked a lot better than just 300dpi direct scan.
it also remove moire effect from the the image when viewing it at different zoom levels
