    paq8px_v183fix1 works fine.
paq8pxd_v75 fails to test szdd block size against 0, so it fails on decompressing. (wrong header detection)

    I made a mistake with paq8px.

    until paq8pxd_v10 - ok
    paq8pxd_v11 - paq8pxd_v16_skbuild3_x64 - fails on decompressing
    paq8pxd_v16_skbuild4_x64 - ok
    paq8pxd_v18 - paq8pxd_v75 - fails on decompressing
    ---
In the coming days I will post more problematic files.

Should test only APPx or COM fields if in thumbnail mode. (same for pxd) At least then it works on my test files and with this one.

It seems that some files are getting stuck extracting at 100% when the file has been compressed using pre-training text model. Using the refactored v185.

If dev IDE is used then it does not matter i think. If you are like me on Notepad+ etc then you want all in one file, all-most all.

I cant compile px as it uses newer c++, so.

I usually include additional files. Like in pxd -> ppm, wrt, lstm etc.

There is something wrong with use "solid" compression with paq8px v185, until paq8pxe v1 gc82 it works fine but starting from v185 compreccion scores are much worse (2.5x higher) than previous versions.
Maybe it could be helfpful that paq8px v184 runs quite ok, but for some files (I.EXE) there is an crash with "encodeExe read error".

Today I decided to get PAQ8PX to compile on ARM CPU's. For this, I had to do some defines to check if we are compiling on x86 or ARM CPU's, since ARM doesn't have SSE/SSE2/AVX2 instructions. Also, the `rsqrt` on `Ilog.cpp` needed to be translated to ARM SIMD instructions, so I'm also checking which processor we are using there.

Tested it with my Samsung Galaxy S9+ which has 6GB of RAM itself. Running on Ubuntu under Termux.

Here is my pull request: https://github.com/hxim/paq8px/pull/123/

Now, here's the interesting part and I tested it with the current branch as well as mine. It seems there is a bug somewhere when identical results will be produced if we use `-simd none`. However, it seems that either there's a bug somewhere, or maybe it is a correct behavior due to different simds? When a file is compressed with `-simd sse2` or `-simd avx2` it cannot be extracted with `-simd none`. Compression works, but the files are not the same.

The same is true for the opposite. Files compressed with `-simd none` will not produce identical results if extracted with `-simd avx2` or `-simd sse2`.

  17. Thanks:

Translated SSE2 to NEON by using this as a guide: https://github.com/jratcliff63367/ss...ter/SSE2NEON.h

So now paq8px can use it if the ARM CPU supports it.

It also produces identical results when using SSE2 and AVX2 to extract a PAQ8PX file compressed with NEON and vice versa.

This means that there may be a bug on the "None" simd section of the code, as it's the only one that doesn't produce an identical file. Using other SIMD extensions work fine.

    My branch for SIMD_NEON: https://github.com/moisespr123/paq8px/tree/simd_neon

Should I open a merge request?

    paq8px_v186

    Code:
    paq8px_v186
    2020.04.09
    - Fixed JpegModel to add 2 additional inputs to the mixer (Fixes the issue where the files would not be bit-identicals when different SIMD instructions were used with `-simd none`, or vice versa).
    - Compatibility with ARM processors.
    - Added ARM NEON SIMD instructions for the Mixer.
Basically this is a fix for the JpegModel issue reported by @Mauro Vezzosi and adds compatibility for Linux on ARM CPU's supporting NEON SIMD. (Tested on a Snapdragon 845).

Included in the ZIP are the executables for 64bit Windows and Linux, as well as the ARM executable for Linux on AArch64 devices. Source code is included too.

But PAQCompress cannot be downloaded due to Avast antivirus - it believes that all PAQCompress contain a trojan.
Just saw this message. It could probably be due to some old PAQ versions, maybe? Either way, that's a false positive. Microsoft Defender doesn't complain about it.

    paq8px_v187

Happy Easter everyone. I did some additional changes to paq8px. Details below:

    Code:
    paq8px_v187:
    2020.04.12
    - Ported ContextMap Bucket find() function to NEON and AVX2.
    - Bucket will now use the find() function according to the SIMD vectorization being used.
    - When using SSE2, it will assume the CPU doesn't have SSSE3 and will use the `None` function of `Bucket.hpp`. If `-simd SSSE3` is specified , then it will use the SSSE3 SIMD function in `Bucket.hpp` and the SSE2 Mixer Training function.
    - Changed some If's statements to If/Else.
This version should be bit-identical with v185 and v186 archives. It only adds and refactors some code referring to SIMD instructions.

    Enjoy!

There's no changes to the compression code in v186 either. It just adds NEON SIMD instructions and compatibility to compile on ARM processors (Linux running on Smartphones or Single Board Computers using ARM CPU's.)

Feel free to test v187 if you want too. Would be great to know if timings are affected due to the new SIMD functions, specifically in the changes done to the Bucket.hpp file.

Please specify what "digits" mean. Do you mean single-digit ASCII decimal numbers one after the other with no whitespace, like "20200602"?
I'm not sure what you mean by "in detail". It would not be easy to demonstrate in a forum post what paq8px does exactly. Especially because paq8px is heavy stuff - it needs a lot of foundation. I suppose you did some research, study and reading since we last met and you would like to dig deeper?
If you need real depth, you will need to fetch the source code and study it. However if you have a specific question, feel free to ask it here.
