    I think that was a really stupid answer Skymmer
    It was hard to get how you most probably mean it.

    I meant that maorosh should watch his tongue first of all.
    Also, maorosh, please be good enough to point the changes when you edit you posts.
    Simon, I don't see any stupid there. Man called himself idiot so I've answered according to his ID, no matter if it was metaphor or not. Am I clear enough?

    EDIT: maorosh, seems that I'm incorrectly treated your words so my apologies.

    file must be without any space or blank
    and must be in same directory of this file
    make sure to save this cmd file inside directory with ur compiled paq file's
    when all finish, result will show like this:

    Code:
    @echo off&mode 120,18&title check_file's_with_some_paq_version&set file=&set i=&if exist "%*" (
    set file=%* & for /f "tokens=*" %%p in ('dir /a /b *paq*.exe') do (
    for %%z in (log time %~nx1.paq8px %~n1.by.%%p) do del /q /f /a %%z>nul 2>&1
    for %%z in (process time) do set %%z=
    set /a i+=1&&set process=%%p&&call :process
    %%p -8 %*>>log && type log | find /i "time">>time && set /p time=<time
    if exist %~nx1.paq8px if defined time ren %~nx1.paq8px %~n1.by.%%p && for /f "tokens=4,5" %%k in ('dir ^| find /i "%~n1.by.%%p"') do call :show name %%l, size %%k
    for %%z in (log time %~nx1.paq8px %~n1.by.%%p) do del /q /f /a %%z>nul 2>&1
    for %%z in (process time) do set %%z=
    )
    title * here ur result's * & echo. & echo       		------------------------------------ & echo. & pause & exit /b
    ) else (echo. & echo * drag any file 4 check on this file & echo * file must not have any 'black space' & echo * file must be locate in same directory of this batch file & echo. & pause & exit /b)

    Strange that nobody complained that libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is required. Its not so easy to find it without diggin' the depths of GCC distrs. By the way, Jan, can you upload it somewhere?

    I guess it's possible to compile .exe that doesn't need this file, but I didn't find how to do it.
    Any hints how to do this ?
    Anyway, here is the libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll :

    Calgary corpus -> 598,097 bytes in 482 sec with paq8px_v67 -7 (811 MB memory). Tested on a T3200, 3 GB, 32 bit Vista.

    EDIT: decompression is OK. Ignore my last edit where I said decompression failed. I was extracting with a different version.

    @Skymmer - my system didn't ask me about libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll for v67.

    You must have it somewhere in PATH then. It asked me too, so it needs it.
    But, LovePimple's compiles are faster so better use them.
    EDIT: Jan Ondrus' compile asked for the dll.

    name of compressed file is inserted into archive too -> you and Matt use different filename for calgary.tar

    Actually I didn't use a tar file. I created an archive with 14 files in the current directory (added in alphabetical order) as in "paq8px -7 archive *"

    Hi everybody,
    I just have one thing to say (excuse me for my bad english).

    I see that Jan Ondrus and LovePimple give compiled versions of paq8px. But I'm on Windows and I need binaries for a Linux server.
    Can somebody compile it for Linux (if somebody is powered by Linux), because I think I will not install a Linux distribution on my computer to make just one compilation...
    I found paq8* versions for Linux on the Internet, but no paq8px.
