Lightbulb The Following User Says Thank You to USER For This Useful Post

I think this sentence is a little exagered.
I would like to see this changed to "Likes", "Thanks", an emoji or something similar.

What do you think? Maybe shelwien can start a poll, if interested

  2. Thanks:

I changed it to see if I can. Its defined like this:
    Code:
<phrase name="post_thanks_user_says"><![CDATA[The Following User Says Thank You to {1} For This Useful Post:]]></phrase>
<phrase name="post_thanks_users_say"><![CDATA[The Following {1} Users Say Thank You to {2} For This Useful Post:]]></phrase>
I don't really care either way, but it can be changed easily enough.

  4. Thanks:

P.S: I tried to actually press the Thanks button, but I'm getting this error since the change Shelwien:

[] operator not supported for strings on line 182 in /home/skymmer/encode.su/includes/functions_post_thanks.php
    #0 /home/skymmer/encode.su/includes/functions_post_thanks.php(137): fetch_thanks('61977', '', false)
    #1 /home/skymmer/encode.su/post_thanks.php(64): thanked_already(Array)

  7. Thanks:

Its a consequence of php7 upgrade, hopefully fixed, I totally forgot to test it.

The message is now lossy compressed with a ratio of ~8%.
More aggressive lossy compression to an emoji is still possible.

An emoji will take up at least a byte or two. We can reduce it to 1 bit: 0 = Read 1 = Thanks! lol

If there are at least 8 of us, we can get 8:1 savings with 1 byte for thanks/read.

Emoji is actually an image, so w.r.t. download size it won't be compression at all. Also not sure if bbcode or urls are even supported there.
But as a further compression improvement I can try removing that header line in the script :)

It's possible to enter emojis in vbulletin as icon or utf8:

    Icon:

    utf8: ♥

  16. Thanks:
