I'm about to scan some stuff.
ussual i swear by png because its mostly black/white stuff i scan. and png is manageable size wize after proper preprocessing.
However I am now going to color/photo stuff and need jpeg so im really not wanting to use the 15+ year old jpeg compresson in the software im using and want something that are more Quality focussed.
I am willing to use a good amount of time and CPU power on the jpeg conversion phase 30 min for a file on a ryzen 1700 core would be considere towards the fast end.
Any recommendations to squeeze max quality out of a given bit usage?
system: Windows 7 64 bit
