Best compression for multimedia

Hello,
This is my first post.
I often use nanozip 0.9a for linux with the -cm compression for my multimedia (mp4 and pdf) files. I wanted to know if I can compress more with another piece of software for Linux Ubuntu 64 bits. I have 16 GB Ram and a Intel Core I5. Files to compress are between 100 and 400 Mb.
Can you provide a link so I can successfully compile a version of PAQ or another one ? I had no luck compiling for Linux some versions of PAQ. The destination will be "in the cloud", or a remote backup, this is the reason I want the highest compression.

I save directories. 90 % contains MP4 videos so I thank you for pointing this PDF reducer, it may help in the future.

Is the 10% compression worth it ? I mean, does the compression/decompression time beat the time difference in upload/download ? 12 MB / 77.65 s => 157 KB/s

You mean 120 MB ? Read carefully my post above.
I generally put several files in a TAR (Linux) file and then compress it with nz. 1 or 2 minutes is not much waiting. I may put a password too.
So no the compression/decompression time can't beat the upload/download for multimedia files.
This is just a challenge "who's got the smallest one ?"

I meant (roughly) 132MB-120MB=12MB.
