Request on gamedata compressed file

Hi all, I am here to ask for help about a compressed file format that bugs oldgamers community since 2007.
The file have H2O extension, used by Liquid entertainment in "Battle Realms" game/expansion.
We've managed to find how to decompress and browse the content, modify and re-insert it on a file but without compression. Most of the time the trick works but sometimes the game crashes. I am pretty sure the problem is the compression. If we could re-compress the file and replicate the exact format of the original file, the game wouldn't crash anymore.
