I/O priority seems pretty fine. When compressing in background with 7-Zip or PowerArchiver, it makes a difference.
As for the memory priority, if not much effort I would say yes. It can be a checkbox, and be useful in some scenarios.
As for the microoptimizations, any performance improvement is more than welcome.

    Ty for the reply.
I as trying to benchmar the difeenre wit a couple of cipher command going on in the background. felt vare little difference myself but its probably systme specific because i believe (and i might be wrong) that the storage driver has to support priority as well for it to work.

For the memroy cleanings. I honestly don't believe in those at all. i only put it in becuase it only took very few lines of code and was a request. I don't use them myself and don't recommend them at all.

Iim probably gonna do the micro optimization just because its going to annoy me I know I can improve, but dont do it

  2. Thanks:

    I'll try to look into.
But running the tool here ( at work) it did not pickup project mercury as a a zombie process.
What settings are you running with ?

Hmm i might but in a sever handle monitoring feature in project mercury for other process.

Anyway reading into this I a, not getting the idea that zombie process itself is a bad thing. But when they go haywiere they can be hard to track down since they are sub processeses of another process.
Are you experiencing any ressoutce hog'ing like increased memory usage ?

I am a big fan of rammap to help see ,emmory hog'ing that is noy visible in taskmanager

    Yeah I read through ut.
but his issues is primary due to a procee leaking not just the zombie state. zombie state just made it harder to locate the leaking process

like he is showing the half million handle leak here
