PNG in .ICO file optimizer ?

Is there any free utility that will compress icons to PNG format within an .ICO file and/or one that will optimize those PNG images ?

pngwolf, pngout deflopt and deflhuff does not seem to recognize a PNG image withing and .ICO file

It has been some time ago since I tested such format, but FileOptimizer supported it.
If not, please let me know, and I will do some tests.

TY for the info but sadly i couldt not get it to work
i downloæd the newest version in zip format.

the 64bit exe would not accept drag and drop files nor files added by the add files menu option.
the 32bit exe didnt have this issues but it gave me a crash warning when runing leanify. at the end both my test ico files where the exact same size.

That was a silly error on C++ Builder XE8 optimizer. Is now solved on 7.60.

The crashing leanify was resolved here. It was not a fileoptimizer crash

My icon files are there as well but.

ut if you fixed the 64bit GUI issue and just updated leanify you should be golden.

Thanks. Glad I updated to Leanify 0.4.2.44 daily updates when releasing FileOptimizer 7.60.
Also x64 issue was corrected in 7.60. Let me know if everything works OK for you.

Try to make own favicon free at http://onlinefavicon.com/ , very helpful thing, you can generate your png jpeg or gif file to16x16 ICO file online, also can see gallery with favicons created by other users or download the same. At the end read description how to set up favicon to your site.

late... but someone might use them:

* ImageMagick input.ico output.ico

it will compress 256 (Vista) icons as PNG (inside ICO file)

*Pixelformer - a nice ICO/PNG editor with option to use PNG compress on ICO export

* I've also found a GConvert (15 days, trial version) who can compress as PNG all icons inside .ICO file

(those fully compressed icons are working on Vista and newer Windows)

I recommend a version of Axialis Icon Workshop (6.8.0.0).
