Pretty funny, that there seem to be quite a few people around here that do weight training.
Who's with us? Now i know at least three forum members.

Diet? Muscles? Training? No, no, no. Its just an oblivion for masses. I don't want to rape my body for an illusory aim.
Long-lasting walks - yes. But not some special actions to torture my body.

I'm really like workouts with this girl![]()
No wonder - considering name Zuzana, she must be Czech![]()

"No one involved in computers would ever say that a certain amount of memory is enough for all time? I keep bumping into that silly quotation attributed to me that says 640K of memory is enough. There's never a citation; the quotation just floats like a rumor, repeated again and again." -- Bill Gates
I supposed Slovakia, but can't google any information about her biography.
Her accent makes me smile.

As to training - i gave up some regular schedule. During the past 3 years i divided it into different (varying) exercise units. Now i just got a certain amount of training to do per muscle group per week and randomly select corresponding exercies from a large list. The focus is put on non-isolative moves. And to keep the stress increasing i record my weights/reps and slowly increase these. I found that approach to be very versatile and diversified.
Is here anybody around doing this for more than, say 1 year?

I run, ride a bicycle and lift weights. Some photos from a little run I did last month. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...9&l=85daa84e5d
Edit: I forgot the U.S. has not caught up to the rest of the world regarding units of measurement, so
- The race was 100 miles = 160 km.
- It was on trails at an elevation of 9200 to 12600 ft = 2700 to 3800 m.
- There was 16000 ft = 5000 m of climbing and the same amount of descent.
- Temperature was 30's to 70's F = 0 to 25 C.
- My shoes weighed 3.9 ounces = 110 g each.
- My finish time was 29 hours, 51 minutes = 107.5 kiloseconds![]()

@Matt
Are there any breaks (not) included in that time span?
One or two hours of running are enough for me, but your endurance stress is just awesome.

I didn't sleep, but I did spend a couple minutes at each aid station (there are 11). The clock keeps running. For a race this long, I walk all the climbs and run only the flat parts and downhill.
There are multi-day stage races where you sleep each night, like the Sri Chinmoy 3100 mile (5000 km) race in New York where you run from 6:00 AM to midnight each day for up to 62 days. There are also multiday races up to 10 days where the clock runs 24 hours per day. (Most people will sleep, however). A friend is planning to run the Double Deca triathlon (20x Ironman) in Mexico, which is 76 km swim in a 50m pool, 3600 km bike, and 844 km run on a 2 km paved loop. It has a cutoff of 28 days and the clock runs 24 hours. I'm nowhere near that level, though. My longest race is 118 miles (190 km).
I do Gym 3 times a week now. Had to when i got RSI as i had screwed up my muscles etc through neglect ;p Or "Deconditioned" as my physio called me ;p So had to rebuild my posture and all sorts of stuff. Still have big RSI problems which is really annoying as can't work on my programs and tools but hopefully it'll heal eventually.

Very good. I can only do about 15-20 pullups. I usually do 5 to 10 holding a 30-50 pound weight (13-23 kg) with my feet.
