    Smile SACD

dunno why people likes dvd-audio so much
several years ago when the HD audio formats developed
there where two opponents SACD and DVD-A.
And now almost nothing new heard about SACD
only few companies make players and mostly HI END.
I think SACD is awesome, its music in the puriest form, almost analogue
    not some PCM stuff
    - need higher dinamic range: lets add some more bits
    - need higher frequency range: chose higher samplig freq

Just like master tape in studio
to get higher dinamic range: increase tape speed( and frequency grows also)
    and wise wersa
Someone could say "Its hard to edit" but, should it be edited?
It's format not to edit but to store MUSIC
and pcm left for some "signals" maybe temperature,pressure...
    SACD (DSD) IS FOR MUSIC

ps: it doesnt need some tricks like MLP(meridian lossless packing)
to fit concert on single dvd

You may have a very HQ, HD, whatsoever, ... sound source, but without proper Amps, Acoustic System, Proper Acoustic Environment you will never get into HQ sound. Professional audio costs a lot, you may spend 1 million and more USD just for sound... And finally, you must be a professional to find out the difference - i.e. you must have a perfect hearing.
Concluding, all these stuff about HD is just to get money from customers, a dummy customers at almost...

    >You may have a very ...
    I know
    >Professional audio costs a lot..
pro is not the solution too
pro like in studio is not so useful at home koz its "dead"
pro like on the concert is completly useless (and even dangerous)
    >to get money from custom..
Sad to hear that but actually youre right and its not the audio only problem
    also cars, houses(specially in moscow),
and even computers(crysys is the good example)

Still it doesnt reduce SACD great potential

I, though by no means an audio expert, believe that low frequencies require higher numerical values than mid frequencies. So the sound volume on audio DVDs should be normalized using a human acoustic model.

Something like calculating a FFT on a sample periodically, then combining the coefficients using a perceptually weighed model. If the perceptual loudness level exceeds a threshhold, the DVD player could lower the volume.

There is already a new approach for working around this problem (in a different way though) with a growing support by most media players step by step: Replay Gain. Maybe, someone could make it for DVDs.
