    COMPRESSIA 0.96

    Hi again everybody,

    As I explained in my CCM post, my computer got infected and I lost all my old compression programs.

    Thanks to Black_Fox, I got my CCM 1.30b back!

    The last one I lost that I can't find ANYWHERE is COMPRESSIA 0.96. Does anyone have this? If so, I would really appreciate a quick upload/attachment.

    Thank you so, so much everyone.

    PS: After COMPRESSIA 0.96, I will have recovered all my archivers once and for all!

    I've only got 1.0beta - http://nishi.dreamhosters.com/u/compressia.exe
    And a keygen for it:
    Code:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <stdlib.h>
    #include <time.h>
    void main(void) {
      int Key, map[18] = {4,10,12,17,7,2,14,9,13,1,11,0,16,5,8,3,15,6};
      char pass[19],temp[64];
      unsigned __int64 a;
      srand(time(0)); a = rand();
      Key = 223321971+a%(323321970-223321971);
      a = 462342247;
      a*= Key^394788811;
      sprintf( temp, "%18I64u", a );
      for( int i=0; i<18; i++ ) pass[map[i]]=temp[i];
      pass[18]=0;
      printf("psw=%s\n",pass);
    }

    Thanks for trying.

    Yeah I need version 0.96. I know it is very rare but I figure this is the place to ask for it.

    If anyone else can help with 0.96, please upload/attach. I really appreciate it.

    Thanks.

    Compressia's author was Yaakov Gringeler.

    His old site was "compressia.com" (as of 2002) but that domain no longer resolves. Does anyone know if he's still in the compression scene?

    Well, http://gringeler.com/ still exists.

    Afair he worked for smith-micro (stuffit) for a while, made the jpeg recompressor there.
    See https://www.google.com/?tbm=pts#tbm=...akov+gringeler

    Hi,

    I'm sorry but Compressia 0.96 is really old stuff.
    The last version of Compressia is 10 years old.
    Not only that I don't have Compressia 0.96 readily available, I'm not even sure if I can find it.

    BTW, the email address on gringeler.com has not been working for a while.
    I can be contacted at gringya<YouKnowWhat>walla<dot>co<dot>il

    Regards,
    Yaakov.

    Can you tell something about your compression-related projects since then?

    I am going to make a post, later on today or tomorrow, regarding a new technology which is relevant to audio compression.
    I am also working on a new generic compression technology.

    I have v0.96 and assuming Yaakov has no problem with it, I'll upload a copy.
