I'm continue working on the brand new and the final version of my ultimate file archiver PIM.
What's new:
+ Added BALZ file decompression
+ Now PIM has three compression methods:
Store - No compression
Normal - The newest BZIP2 with EXE filter
Best - The latest PPMD plus bunch of various filters - from special picture filter to well known EXE filter

The coolest part is that you can choose the compression method/mode in real time - like with WinRAR. If with current version (v2.10) you able to choose between Store/PPMD only, with next, upcoming version you can in real time switch between Store/Normal/Best. Thus some files will be Stored/compressed with BZIP2 with filters/compressed with PPMD with filters.
To do this, during compression, open Settings dialog, select appropriate compression method and press OK. Compression method was changed, from now on all files will be added and compressed with selected compression method. I think it's cool!

Will it be possible to add multiple files and then apply the compression ?
In v2.1, I could add a file and then the compression of this file was started.
To add the next, I had to wait until the first file was compressed.
Better would be : first add all files -> start compression using an "apply" button or something similar.
You might have a look an WinRK.

Currently PIM has some restrictions - i.e. you may add a folder or one/multiple files a once. Actually, I do not plan to change such behavior. Originally Posted by pat357
