Scanned image is not usual compression aim today, IMHO. Besides, regular structure of printed images is far away from pure digital picture. Huge uncompressed RAW images from 39 Mpix cameras (http://www.jirvana.com/raw_large/p45/, http://raw.fotosite.pl/) or astronomic CCD arrays will be more acceptable. Anyway, there are specialized compressors for images

Instead of SSD RAID0 the 1TB hard disk is used in this test.

Thanks sportman! I like your website's layout - simple and clean. Sorry, that I'm always buggin' you. But can you please correct CCM's name - atm, it's CMM.

Great! minor problem - on first open data are sorted in descending size order

great petition - add extraction/testing times to your tests. this time is really matter.

also, for wider audience you will need to publish your computer parameters there

one more reason is what your first tests includes less amount of compressors - for example file1 misses 7z -mx9

still, i like your test and site - ability to sort on any column is really great

    Added.

I also added the successful test results (compression time < 1 hour) from the other 6 test files.

Could you add the latest cmm4? It fixes the issues you encountered while testing 0.0 and improves compression and speed.

Everybody can test live his latest archiver via a new beta service I created:
    http://www.metacompressor.com/submit.aspx

Please only test already tested archivers and no other things dont spoil the fun!

You can see directly your own results but they shall not be visible for others yet.

Hardware is equal as before accept no SSD RAID0 but only one 1TB hard disk is used.

    Code: LongNightsDebugging

I get an "Unknown error 4" when using these settings: www.quicklz.com/unnamed.gif

Also, quicklz can decompress only to a directory, not a file (since it supports multiple files as input), could you support that?

    cmm4 77 file1 202,373,239 bytes 998 seconds

Its because you added .exe behind your archiver name in the command line then compession fail, if you leave it away it should work.

You can upload the same zip archive or archiver file names again or test multiple times the same test file with the same archiver behind each other to get a quicker timing because disk caching.
